built for assisted living.
Contactless monitoring in each apartment, with timely clinical interpretation covered by Medicare for qualifying residents.
Quiet clinical intelligence. Settled into every kind of senior home.
What it looks like in an assisted living community
A sensor in each apartment. A clinical team that watches with you. A timely read for your wellness director.
In the apartment
A wall-mounted radar sensor
Plugged into power, about the size of a smoke detector. Watches vitals and movement continuously. Residents do not have to wear, charge, or remember anything.
At our end
Licensed clinicians on the data
Switzer Medical PC clinicians review the continuous stream and watch for the trajectory shifts that matter in an assisted living population.
At your wellness desk
One timely intelligence report
Short, resident-by-resident, formatted for your wellness director and easy to share with families when appropriate. No new dashboard to babysit.
Why assisted living wellness directors choose us
A clinical layer that fits inside an ALF license, not on top of it.
Resident acuity in assisted living has climbed for years. Wellness directors carry more clinical questions than the license scope was originally designed to cover. SwitzerHealth adds a licensed clinical interpretation layer without expanding what your community has to do.
The clinical work happens at Switzer Medical PC. The report arrives at your wellness director. Your team keeps operating within the ALF scope you already hold.
Talk to us →What changes for residents and families
Residents keep living the way they already live. There is no wristband to put on, no app to set up, no camera in the apartment. The sensor on the wall is unobtrusive enough that family members forget it is there.
When a resident's family asks how the community is keeping an eye on Mom or Dad, your wellness director has a real answer: a continuous read, watched by a clinical team, summarized on a timely cadence.
How coverage works in assisted living
Covered by Medicare for qualifying residents.
In assisted living, SwitzerHealth's clinical services are delivered for qualifying residents under the care management code families. Coverage depends on valid physician orders, qualifying diagnoses, and individualized resident assessment.
Not all residents qualify, and care management codes are mutually exclusive within a single resident and month. Coverage varies by payer mix.
How this lands operationally. Your community keeps its ALF license. Switzer Medical PC, a separate physician-owned clinical entity, owns the clinical work and bills the qualifying covered service. Your wellness team receives the timely interpretation. No fee-sharing, no revenue-percent arrangement, no shift in your community's licensure footprint.
FAQ
Common questions from assisted living operators
How is the monitoring covered in assisted living?
For qualifying residents the service is covered by Medicare under the care management code families. Coverage depends on valid physician orders, qualifying diagnoses, and individualized resident assessment.
Does this fit inside our ALF license scope?
Yes. SwitzerHealth's clinical services are delivered by Switzer Medical PC, a separate physician-owned clinical entity, not by your community staff. Your team continues to operate within the community's existing ALF license; the clinical interpretation arrives as a timely report to your wellness director.
Will my residents need to wear anything?
No. There is no wristband, pendant, or patch. The radar sensor sits in the apartment and reads vitals without contact.
What about family councils and resident councils?
Contactless, camera-free, wearable-free monitoring is generally the most family-friendly modality available. The device is unobtrusive and the consent process is documented and supports POA-held consent where applicable. Family-facing summaries are available where authorized as part of the consent.
Who reviews the data?
A licensed clinical team at Switzer Medical PC reviews continuous monitoring data and produces a timely clinical intelligence report for the community's wellness team.
